The Ohio State University at Marion Kids’ College program is currently seeking class proposals from skilled community members who can package exciting learning opportunities into a unique summer day camp offering. Kids’ College is an outreach and engagement program of The Ohio State University at Marion that gives children 7 to 13 years of age the opportunity to participate in a number of summer day camps that are designed for fun and learning. Kids’ College has been offered to the children of Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Marion, Morrow, Union, and Wyandot Counties by Ohio State Marion since 1999. Eight independent, four-day camps will be offered during the weeks of June 16-19, June 23-26, and July 7-10. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday in either morning or afternoon sessions. Those submitting proposals are asked to coordinate a half-day class totaling 12 hours of instruction for the week. Organizers are looking for interested teachers, professionals, craftsmen, or other experts who have the patience to teach a room full of lively kids and who can plan fun, interactive classes filled with activities that will keep children interested and engaged. Previously successful Kids’ College classes have offered a variety of subject matter, including crime scene investigation, art, music, model rocketry, team sports, animals, fishing, science, scrapbooking, computer safety, cooking, and much more. Class proposals should include a description (250 words or less) of the program you would like to instruct, the week(s) and time of day you would be available to teach, and your contact information. Proposals should be submitted by March 3, 2008. Mail them to Bronwen Babich, Kids’ College, The Ohio State University at Marion, 1465 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Marion, OH 43302, or submit them via email to babich.5@osu.edu. For questions or more information on Kids’ College, call Bronwen Babich at 740-725-6341. | ||
