Ohio Gas Prices Drop 13 Cents

03-24-2008
A survey shows Ohio gasoline prices fell 13 cents over the past week as oil prices pulled back from their recent record high.

According to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service, regular-grade gas is averaging $3.20 a gallon around the state, down from $3.33 last Monday.

The current average is 70 cents more than what Ohioans were paying at the pump a year ago.

The cost of gasoline has eased over the past week while oil prices fell about 10 percent from last Monday's trading record of $111.80. Oil traders have become worried that the struggling U.S. economy could mean softer demand for oil.

AAA says the current average cost of diesel fuel in Ohio is just under $4.11 a gallon, only slightly below a record high hit on Friday.
