No action was taken by the Tri-Rivers Career Center Board of Education on cuts. Superintendent Chuck Speelman has proposed a 7-person reduction in staff. That proposal includes leaving vacant 4 posts that will open due to retirement. 3 more employees could lose their jobs. The school is facing a $55,664 deficit in 2009, leading Speelman to seek about $1 million in budget saving actions. $600,000 of that money could be saved by not filling the retired vacancies, outsourcing some work, and not using mobile trailers. The board could vote on the plan on May 21st. | ||
