Gas Prices Down Slightly, Up Over Two Weeks

05-05-2008
Ohio gasoline prices have gone up 17 cents in the last two weeks, though they have come down a little after hitting a record high.

The Daily Fuel Gauge Report from AAA and the Oil Price Information Service shows regular-grade gas is now averaging $3.57 a gallon in Ohio, compared to $3.40 two weeks ago, on April 21.

Prices have eased somewhat since Friday, when the statewide average climbed to a new all-time high of $3.61 per gallon.

The cost of gasoline could be pumped up again by turmoil that's driving oil prices higher. Since Friday, crude oil futures have been rising on news of Turkish airstrikes on Kurdish rebel bases in Iraq and an attack on an oil installation in Nigeria.
