Fatalities on Ohio roadways for the Memorial Day Weekend were the fewest in 38 years, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Six people were killed in crashes, 2 in motorcycle accidents. 10 people lost their lives during the same time period last year.
650 people were arrested for driving impaired.
“We are extremely encouraged by fewer fatalities this Memorial Day weekend. However, Ohioans need to focus on motorcycle safety,” Patrol Superintendent Colonel Richard M. Collins said.
Alcohol is believed to have been in use in half of the fatal accidents.
