Columbia Gas has announced a rate decrease for customers in its 60 county service area across Ohio.

The rate will decline from $1.43 per 100 cubic feet of gas to $1.35, meaning the average customer bill will decrease by about $3.00.

Last year, before a record spike in gas prices, the cost per 100 cubic feet of gas was $0.98, almost five dollars cheaper for the average customer.
