Ohio Gasoline Prices Drip 14 cents

07-21-2008

Ohio gasoline prices have dropped about 14 cents in the last week amid plunging oil prices.

Monday's statewide average for regular is $3.91, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. That's down from just under $4.05 per gallon one week ago.

Among the state's major metro areas, prices are lowest in Dayton, where regular is averaging $3.86.

The decline in gas prices follows a slide in oil prices stemming from expectations that the weakening U.S. economy will cut demand for fuel. Crude fell below $129 a barrel on Friday, after trading at a record $147 on July 11.
