A Galion police officer was wounded and the 41-year-old shooter killed following an incident on Saturday.

Reports say an officer and William Kitzmiller struggled over a gun. During the struggle, the officer, who has not been identified, was shot.

Another officer returned fire, killing Kitzmiller.

The original call had been for a domestic violence situation.
