Columbia Gas customers are going to find their bills a little lighter next month.
Natural gas prices will fall to their lowest point in 7 years, meaning customers will pay 52 cents per 100 cubic feet. That equals $24.47 for the average customer, over $6 cheaper than last year.
Natural gas costs make up about 75 percent of the typical residential customer’s bill.
Columbia Gas is not the only group seeing lowered gas prices.
Several experts are predicting gas prices at the pump to drop below $2 again.
All of this is due to a surplus of gas in the country.
