The National Weather Service says this July's average temperature of 70.5 degrees in Columbus is more than 4 degrees lower than normal.
Weather Service meteorologist Nick Greenawalt says low pressure along the East Coast has been keeping Ohio on the chilly side. Lake Erie lifeguards have been seen wearing parkas and sweats, and water parks and private swim clubs are complaining that business is down. Electric bills should wind up lower, too.
