Another drop in natural gas prices is in store for Columbia Gas customers. Prices will drop to 49 cents per 100 cubic feet, the lowest price since 1999.

That means the average customer will be paying $31.67.

The historic drop comes on the heels of another drop in August. Prices at that point fell to a seven year low at 52 cents per 100 cubic feet. That represented a 68% drop from last year.

The drop in price will also results in a lower budget payment for those customers on the budget payment plan.

Natural gas costs make up about 75 percent of the typical residential customer’s bill.
