Happy month of November!
Wow! This year has surely flown by! Soon the holidays will
be here and the
holidays mean busy times at the Bucyrus Public Library.
Preschool story hours continue through the month of November.
Weekly themes
for the month are Cough and Sneeze: A Story Hour about Being
Sick; Get
Carried Away...Read (to celebrate Children's Book Week); Thanks
for
Thanksgiving; and Peanut, Peanut Butter. No
pre-registration is required
for any story hour session. Sessions are held three times
during the week:
Monday nights from 7:00-7:45 p.m.; Tuesday mornings from
10:30-11:00 a.m.;
Thursday mornings from 10:30-11:15 a.m. Craft days are
held one time per
month, as are snack-and-play times where parent volunteers
provide the snack

During the Thanksgiving holiday, the library will be observing
some special
hours. The library will be closed on Thanksgiving Day
(November 22nd) and
also on the Sunday after Thanksgiving (November 25th).
Otherwise, library
hours are as regularly scheduled.
Ohio Bicentennial barn painter Scott Hagen will be presenting a
program in
the library's community room on November 1st at 7:00 p.m.
He will be
speaking and autographing posters. Refreshments will
follow the program.

The Library's Book vs. Film book discussion group continues into
the month
of November. The book and film that will be discussed will
be Walter
Mosely's "Devil in a Blue Dress". The video can
be viewed on both November
6th and 14th at 7:00 p.m. The book discussion will then
take place on
November 18th at 2:00 p.m. Copies of the book are
available at the

The Friends of the Library will be holding their Fall Concert at
St. Paul's
Lutheran Church on November 4th at 2:00 p.m. Featured
performers will be
Glen Beers, Ed Wise, Judy Hall, and James Gardner.
The Friends of the Library will also be holding their annual
meeting on
November 8th in the library's community room. The meeting
will take place
at 7:00 p.m. A short business meeting will be followed by
a program
presented by local artist Ben Anslow. For further

Also, the library will be featuring a collection of Ben Anslow's
newspapers
from the Michigan/Ohio State annual rivalry. This display
begins November
8th and runs through the 30th.
The current session of Senior Surfin' classes (computer classes
for senior
citizens) will continue through the first part of November.
No more classes
will be held until after the first of the year. For more

The library will be hosting its annual display of the Hoffman
Dolls
beginning November 25th and continuing through December 12th.
The dolls are
made from the same fabric as the Hoffman quilts. For further

The Teen Advisory Board will be having its November meeting on
Tuesday,
November 6th at 7:00 p.m. The Board will be holding a
Young Adult Lock-In
on November 16th and 17th. Preregistration is required for
this program;
however, all slots have been filled. Participants of the
lock-in will be
traveling to the local theatre to view the new Harry Potter
film. For

The library will also be holding a second Harry Potter Party on
November
19th at 7:00 p.m. in the library's community room. To
